What Great Happy Endings for our four legged Friends

October 1, 2010

Hello everyone at Lucky Dog Boarding and Training Center, LLC.

We are truly having success with BUFFY (formerly Puffy) the 1+ year old Pug we got from Lucky Dog on September 11th.  She is LOVABLE, ENERGETIC but fun, loves to go for walks and is learning to sit.  Actually with all of our attention she has settled down a lot.  She gets walks often being she is a very good walker and has become a pretty good friend with our 6+ year old China.  China does however let her know who's house she is in.  They run and play together some, which is nice for us to see because we felt China needed this.  BUFFY is a very good sleeper and sleeps at night in the kennel and is in it while we are at work with absolutely no problem.  We took her camping for five days shortly after getting back to Aberdeen, SD with her.  She did very, very well and thinks that camping will be okay.  We LOVE her and she seems very happy sleeping on your lap.  She really likes being on the lap next to China which seems to go just fine.  We give her lots of HUGS and KISSES.  THANK YOU for "BUFFY" as she is definitely part of our family now.

Hi,
The grey squirrel looking for morning dry cereal was quite surprised this a.m.! My 5 year old grandson and Colie are already best buds.

Colie showed me how smart she is by seeing me open the dog food container with my foot (stainless garbage can that i use to hold dog food) and doing it for herself this morning.

We've been working on "Colie stay" and "Colie come" and she's excellent; not so excellent on "Colie come" when she wants to play outside in the yard. Finally, a total bed hog!!

Hi All,
I wanted to give you an update on Clouds. She has adjusted well to her new home. She is very friendly and everyone that meets her loves her, she is not shy at all. She loves to hang out on a lap or just curl up next to you on her favorite blanket. She has shown both dogs who is boss now, they have learned quickly to respect her personal space.

She has also enjoyed chasing yarn attached to Jack's toy so when he runs around with it she runs after him to catch the yarn, so very cute. I included a couple pictures, one on her favorite blanket next to me with her "fishing pole" and another hanging out with Mike and the dogs. Thank you for taking care of her until we found her. I can't believe she was there for so long, she is awesome.

Sincerely,

Kim Johnson

Dear Friend,
I just wanted to write and give you a quick update on Lola. Since her adoption just before Thanksgiving, she has been a joy to be around and is certainly the light of Ziggy's life. She has experienced a few minor issues, probably from bad experiences in her "previous life" but has overcome them and is very comfortable in her new home. She and Ziggy are pretty much inseparable now, and do everything together (including visits to the vet). She loves to go on long walks and just went for her first ride in the Polaris Ranger with Ziggy and I. She will be getting some pink "doggies" to wear on her rides, as Ziggy always wears his red ones.

I would just like to thank everyone at Lucky Dog for helping to bring this wonderful dog not only into my life, but also Ziggy's. I am thankful every day that I have had the opportunity to provide a home to these wonderful dogs that had such a rough start in their lives.

Keep up the good work!

Sincerely,

Susie Schmickle (Bigfork, Minnesota)

Maxwell
2008 - Hello Mary,

My Wife and I decided to take Muffin (now named Maxwell) home with us.  I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about adopting a cat because I was afraid he may not be well socialized; but Max is such a great little cat!

You all did an amazing job raising him! He is so friendly and gets along well with our 2 corgis and 2 main coons, he just fit right in.  He even plays, to some extent, with the dogs.  He always around and looking for some belly rubb’n. We are so glad we got him!

Thank you again,
Lance

Charlie and the Kids are lots of fun. Charlie was adopted by the Reihle family
Good Morning
I just wanted to send a few pictures of Buddy and let you know how he was doing.  He was a little shy of everything at first which was to be expected – but he is now doing great with everyone!  He loves the boys – gives them kisses every night and in the morning to wake them up.  Gets along good with the inside cat and leaves the outside cats alone – also loves to play and run with our outside lab.  He has had no accidents in the house – he sleeps on his bed in our room at night.  We haven’t got daring enough to leave him out of his kennel during the day yet, but I am sure we will shortly – he has done nothing to show us that he can’t handle it!  He has been an excellent addition to our family!!
Thanks!!

Just wanted to let you know that Cowboy has adopted us!  He sleeps with his new girls at night.  I brought him to the vet last week for his Lyme's disease shot and he weighed 25# so he is looking quite buff!  I have attached a couple of pictures along with a picture of our first Golden "Duke" that loved dressing up for Halloween.  We did buy Cowboy a life jacket which he doesn't mind wearing at all, so I think he will probably have a costume in October also!  Maybe he will be Superdog too!

Hello,
I just wanted to finally write and update you on Jake, the pit-bull cross my boyfriend Ben and I adopted in December. Jake has proven to be a wonderful and caring dog. He loves going to the dog park, playing with his special friends- Ernie, Bella, Ash, Quinn, Puddin', and Boots, going for walks, giving kisses, and cuddling. Everyone that meets him falls in love with him,
in fact, our successes with Jake have inspired our friends to consider and follow through with pet adoption, something which I feel to be most rewarding.

We really couldn't be happier with Jake, he is so full of love and his endless smiles are contagious; Jake is truly a part of our family and we are forever greatful to have him in our lives.

Sincerely,

Kelly Matthiesen

Hi,
When we were lucky enough to adopt Carter from your facility I stated that I'd let you know how he's doing. Well he's great! We had him potty trained in a month and I taught him to sit & shake in a matter of hours, with the help of treats of course. He's great with our three children ages, 5 yrs, 2 yrs, and 11 months. He likes to play with our cat, he has the run of the house, and now our backyard since we just finished putting our fence up. My parents have a lake cabin that we go to about every other weekend, so he is getting used to the water and loves to run through the 4 wheeler trails. The other day I trimmed his nails, brushed his teeth, and brushed his hair and he didn't even make a peep. Our family couldn't have asked for a better, cuter, more well behaved dog.
Thanks so much for letting us adopt him!
Sincerely,
The Zajac's
Scott, Michelle, Alexia, Andrew, & Isaiah
Puddy & Carter too!
